Inspiration for wonderful experiences in Østsalling
The distillery Limfjorden is located in an absolutely fantastic location directly by the Limfjord at Sundsøre Ferry Port. The distillery produces a wide range of special whisky types, which have a truly unique character due to aging by the waters of Limfjord, where the gusts and humidity play a natural and significant role in the results. In addition to whisky, rum, gin, local brandy, local liqueurs, aquavit, herbal schnapps, and bitters are also part of the production. The distillery exclusively uses local ingredients in its production.
The famous author Jeppe Aakjær lived here together with his wife Nanna Aakjær from 1907 until his death in 1930. See the exhibitions and the artist's residence where Aakjær wrote several of his famous works.
In Thise, you will find the organic Thise Dairy, which produces a wide range of dairy products, from cheese to butter, milk, yogurt, and much more, which are sold throughout Denmark.

Brokholm Lake – a landscape reborn
Once drained for agriculture, Brokholm Lake was restored in 1999. Today, it’s a vibrant wetland teeming with birdlife, offering a birdwatching tower and nature activities for all ages. The nature center hosts events and school programs throughout the year.
Bostrup Tinghøj is one of Denmark’s many well-preserved Bronze Age burial mounds, dating back around 3,000 years. In the Middle Ages, it became a local assembly site for Salling Syssel, where legal matters were discussed and decided. After 1688, it served as the district court mound, and until the late 1700s, death sentences were both passed and carried out here. Several executions took place, including for infanticide and witchcraft, with the condemned often buried at the foot of the mound.
Selde Cove is a peaceful bay by the Limfjord, where nature and tranquility meet. Ideal for relaxation, walking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Breum Holy Spring – Nature’s Mystery and Human Hope
Breum Holy Spring has been considered sacred for centuries. Its water defies gravity by bubbling upward and maintains a nearly constant temperature year-round. The spring has likely served as a pilgrimage site both before and after the arrival of Christianity, offering comfort and hope to generations.
