Hvidbjerg – nature’s playground in Østsalling

Hvidbjerg is surrounded by some of Salling’s most beautiful natural areas. Here, a landscape of lakes, wetlands, plantations and open expanses awaits, where nature is given space to unfold. The trails around the town invite both hiking and horse riding, and the pace naturally follows the surroundings.

From Hvidbjerg Activity House and the new green gathering place Det Grønne Springbræt, paths lead directly out into nature. In the Old Gravel Pit, you can light a campfire, stay overnight in a shelter and experience outdoor life up close. From here, the route continues towards Rettrup Kær Lake, where nature unfolds freely among reeds, water and rich birdlife.

South of the town stretches Hvidbjerg Plantation, and together with Rettrupkær Lake the area offers excellent conditions for nature experiences all year round. There are good accommodation options in both Hvidbjerg and Brøndum, and the Vestsalling Trail connects Brøndum with the rest of the area. A two-way cycle path makes it easy and safe to cycle between Hvidbjerg and Skive.
