Krejbjerg – landscape, legacy and lively meeting places

Krejbjerg is beautifully situated in a varied landscape close to both forest and beach. If you arrive by bike, you can follow the Marguerite Route, which leads directly through the town. Nature is never far away, with wonderful experiences at Mollerup Lake, Ginnerup Plantation and Hjerk Nor, where rich bird and wildlife shape the scenery.

In the heart of the town, everyday life gathers at Bertel Nørgaard’s Square – a vibrant meeting place with picnic tables, ball fields, a playground and an orangery. Here there is room for pauses, play and community in green surroundings. A visit to Jens Væver’s Museum offers further insight into local history and craft traditions.

Krejbjerg’s history stretches back thousands of years. In Ginnerup Plantation, you will find the impressive Ginnerup Passage Grave, around 4,000 years old and restored in 1910. Here, you can quite literally crawl into the past. At Mollerup Lake, a spectacular amber treasure of 12,849 amber beads – possibly an offering – was discovered in 1940 and can today be experienced at Skive Museum. Along Hjerk Nor, shell middens from the Ertebølle period bear witness to human life dating back to 4500 BC.

If you wish to explore the landscape on foot, follow the hiking route between Krejbjerg, Hjerk Nor and Hjortholm, where nature, culture and panoramic views intertwine.
